Overview
Source provides comprehensive environmental and technical advisory services to uphold the rights, interests, and stewardship responsibilities of Indigenous Nations across their Traditional Territories. We work in true partnership with First Nations, offering clear, reliable, and Nation-centered expertise across all stages of industrial development—from early-stage planning and regulatory review to operations, monitoring, and closure.
Our team brings deep experience in reviewing and interpreting complex technical information related to mining, infrastructure, and other resource development projects. We help communities understand potential impacts, assess risks, and make informed decisions. Whether navigating Environmental Assessment processes or evaluating the long-term effects of historic developments, we translate technical findings into accessible, actionable knowledge aligned with community priorities.
At Source, we recognize Indigenous science as equal to Western science, and we actively advocate for the full and meaningful inclusion of Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Traditional Stewardship Laws, and community-defined values within provincial and federal regulatory frameworks.
We support Nation-led decision-making through capacity building for water quality monitoring and guardian programs, technical oversight for proposed or active projects, and comprehensive assessments of environmental and community impacts. Our approach is grounded in respect, reciprocity, and the understanding that strong technical support strengthens sovereignty, stewardship, and long-term sustainability.
